Life at EPS: Alex Gee

What area of EPS do you work in?

Technology

What do you enjoy most about working at EPS?

My favourite part about working at EPS is without a doubt the teams I work with and all the different personalities I get to meet. EPS is one of the most diverse organisations I have been a part of and I enjoy the opportunity to work with such a range of colleagues.

Tell us about a project you are most proud of and why?

A few years ago I started a project to increase the quality and distribution of information about our development teams’ delivery processes and productivity. The project was a success; but what I am most proud of is seeing how my team has made multiple improvements to the original result to make it more sustainable and valuable.

Tell us about a person who has supported your development? And how?

It’s very difficult to identify one person as I have had fantastic managers and mentors during my time at EPS. One that comes to mind right away is someone who gave me the confidence to stick with my own personal style, rather than thinking I needed to model myself on others who have a very different personality to my own.

How does EPS support your work/life balance?

The culture I have experienced at EPS is one of treating people with respect and allowing them to be autonomous. This allows me to make decisions that ensure I can maintain a healthy work/life balance.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

My most memorable travel experience would be camping under a tree in Botswana, watching elephants walk past a few metres away and hearing hyenas laughing throughout the night!
